At Arun Church, we regularly connect with various partners overseas and give money every month to support projects. Since the start of the global coronavirus pandemic, we have been working closely with our friends at Links International to send £2,000 for the distribution of Emergency Food Items.
One of our partners, Reverend Ranjan Fernando has sent this update from Sri Lanka:
"During the last two days, we were able to distribute more parcels and boxes of dry ration food items to some needy families especially those with children. There are many such families going through a hard time without a single meal due to financial crisis and country situation with the continuous police curfew. Thousands have been taken for quarantine as deaths record. The food and medicine have become a great need as everyone is housebound, with no means to earn the daily incomes which sustained the families. The needs are great and the hardships are tremendous as we are a small poor country and we ask all our brothers and sisters to pray for this situation, and those who like to partner with us to help the needy at this time to show our love and compassion as demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ. They really appreciate our service."
In addition to Sri Lanka, we have been able to support other overseas partners; Herbert and Eve at Wellspring in Uganda, Michel and Nuna at Mercy Ministries in Lebanon, Yashwan in India, and IMC in Colombia to send food and medical parcels to hundreds of families. When you give to Arun Church, some of that money is used to support these projects. Thank you so much for your ongoing commitment to join with us and Links International to impact lives and communities in the present crisis. You are saving lives!
